Role Summary
Pain Territory Account Manager, Minneapolis – The Territory Account Manager will establish and maintain relationships with key institutional decision makers and affiliated Health Care Professionals to drive sales growth for the US Pain Business Unit, supporting potential commercialization of an investigational NaV1.8 inhibitor in acute pain. The role focuses on developing deep strategic account relationships, executing account plans, and delivering patient-centered outcomes while aligning with Vertex values. Reports to a Regional Field Director and manages engagement with 15-20 institutions and select priority community physician offices within the territory.
Responsibilities
- Establish meaningful relationships within key accounts across hospital systems, including medical/administrative staff, pharmacies, formulary decision makers, and KTLs
- Navigate formulary processes and provide key product value content to secure timely inclusion on formularies, pathways, and protocols
- Model ethics and integrity to support compliance and earn trust with external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years in biotech sales; hospital/institution product launch experience is highly desired
- 3+ years of Account Management experience with ability to leverage institutional relationships
- Proven ability to navigate hospital systems and engage formulary management to gain access and influence decision makers
- Experience implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets
- Proficiency with IT tools to support business needs, including CRM
- Experience launching new products preferred

Additional Requirements
- Customer credentials including trainings, background screens, drug testing, and vaccinations
- Must live/work within the territory; proximity to a major airport may be required

- Travel up to 80% (car or airplane); some after-hours work; 10-30% overnight travel may be required
