Description Overview
Provides package engineering support and packaging component expertise through the design, development, and maintenance of packaging standards.
Scope of the Role
- Develop packaging specifications and bills of materials, cost estimates, and rationalizations.
- Conduct and document package testing for component approval or troubleshooting.
- Partner with Business Units to support new product/package launches, promotions/displays, and cost savings initiatives.
- Resolve packaging issues related to component quality, packaging equipment, and line efficiencies.
- Provide deviation resolutions related to packaging component quality.
- Coordinate, conduct, and document packaging line trials for new or improved components.
- Manage changes; resolve or escalate project issues using red flags/scope changes.
- Communicate project status, issues, and potential solutions.
- Participate in selection of new equipment and/or tooling.
- Up to 15% travel required.
Experience Required / Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Packaging Engineering or other engineering discipline; typically 4β8 years packaging development experience.
- Thorough knowledge of cGMPs; working knowledge of USP Testing and CR protocol testing.
- Ability to execute testing protocols for a wide variety of packaging components.
- Proven independent work toward goals and initiative in identifying projects.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and customer service commitment.
- Demonstrated broad knowledge of package design, testing, and packaging materials.
