Operations
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and technical project management support for new product implementations (CMC) and life cycle management changes (LCM) packaging projects within GDPU.
- Develop technical positions on packaging material/component performance and regulatory compliance; investigate and recommend new packaging materials, systems, and technologies considering the 3Ps (Patient, Planet, Performance).
- Support GDPU technical documentation, SOPs, and internal systems.
- Support cross-functional teams to formulate plans and strategies that meet defined objectives.
- Collaborate with R&D Drug Development, iCMC/IA packaging sites, suppliers, Regional Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and QA to define project strategies and objectives.
- Recommend primary (for solids form), secondary, and tertiary packaging systems/materials for new and marketed pharmaceutical products.
- Develop test protocols and manage packaging studies (material tests and transport qualification) for finished drug product and packaging.
- Serve as technical focal point for site/CMO/platform projects to document package requirements; define development activities and sub-project plans; manage technical packaging requirements from development through commercial launch.
- Identify packaging technologies/applications to improve cost, compliance, sustainability, quality, and/or customer acceptance.
- Represent PSA Department in development, qualification, dossier preparation, and launch; participate on project teams, tech transfer teams, launch teams, and packaging task forces.

Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical packaging development, project management, manufacturing operations, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, material science, life sciences, or related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of solid primary/secondary/tertiary packaging material types, performance characteristics, cost, and manufacturing processes.
- Advanced knowledge of packaging materials testing and performance requirements (USP, ASTM, ISTA, IATA, CFR, FDA Guidance).
- Solid project management skills with multifunctional teams.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical customer, supply, and distribution requirements.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations for documentation/data supporting new product registrations and changes to primary packaging materials.
- Required tools/abilities: project management experience; strong technical writing skills; MS Office proficiency (e.g., author Technical Packaging Reports).
- Excellent English (verbal and written) for technical discussions with suppliers/customers.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams; analytical skills for troubleshooting/root cause analysis; effective internal/external communication.
- Preferred: experience in packaging equipment start-up, qualification, and validation.
