Role Summary
Operator, Packaging (Night Shift) at Lilly. Responsible for leading and performing packaging operations to ensure safe, quality, and timely production of medicines, including supervision during the project phase and ongoing operations after project completion.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership on the manufacturing floor to maintain safe, high-quality, and productive operations.
- Maintain a safe work environment and support health, safety, and environmental goals.
- Act as administrator and technical leader for operations; demonstrate knowledge of procedures and ensure quality system compliance.
- Serve as a technical leader and primary contact for issue escalation on the shop floor.
- Administer technical training and ensure operators are trained to perform tasks.
- Operate equipment and perform activities to meet production schedules.
- Assist in checking execution documents (Electronic Batch Records, SAP, Cleaning Logs).
- Drive safety, productivity, deviation reduction, and training compliance objectives.
- Support site leadership in delivering area procedures, quality processes, and controls.
- (Lead role) Assist Supervisor with staff development and performance evaluations; act as backup for Supervisor.
- Serve as a liaison between operations and support functions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to communicate effectively (electronic, written, and verbal)
- Flexibility to troubleshoot and triage challenges
- Computer proficiency (desktop software, MS Office)
- Must pass a vision exam and be free of color blindness; 20/20 close vision acuity
Skills
- Leadership and the ability to train/educate team members
- Knowledge of CGMPs
- Experience in operations/pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

- Ability to wear safety equipment (glasses, shoes, gloves, etc.)
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (2-2-3 schedule)
