Role Summary
Operator, Formulation (Night Shift) at Lilly. Support start-up activities during site build-out and, after project completion, operate and troubleshoot parenteral formulation processes to ensure continuous supply of medicines. Opportunities for growth into leadership and technical roles.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership on the manufacturing floor to maintain safety, quality, and productivity for reliable product supply.
- Maintain a safe work environment and support health, safety, and environmental goals.
- Act as administrator and technical leader for operations; teach proper techniques and ensure adherence to procedures and quality systems.
- Troubleshoot as a technical leader; escalate and address issues on the shop floor.
- Administer technical training and ensure operators are trained to perform tasks.
- Operate equipment to meet production schedules; assist in verifying execution documentation (Electronic Batch Records, SAP, Cleaning Logs).
- Drive safety improvements, reduce deviations, improve productivity, and ensure training compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain continuous supply of medicines.
- Support area operational procedures, quality controls, and serve as a liaison between operations and support functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to communicate effectively (electronic, written, verbal).
- Flexibility to troubleshoot and triage challenges.
- Computer proficiency (desktop software, MS Office).
- Valid driverβΓΓ΄s license; pass vision exam and color vision requirements.
- Equivalent to 20/20 close vision acuity.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Skills
- Leadership and ability to train/educate team members.
- STEM degree or certifications (preferred).
- Formulation, dispensing, material preparation experience.
- Knowledge of CGMPs; experience in pharmaceutical/manufacturing environments.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release; continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience with highly automated equipment (inspection, packaging, filling, assembly); SAP; electronic batch records.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required; STEM degree or certifications preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work 6pm to 6am on a 2-2-3 schedule.
- Fitness-for-duty physical test; ability to work overtime and wear safety gear.
- Ability to gown and work in a cleanroom (Grade C, ISO 8).
- Participation in applicable professional development programs (e.g., RCCC classes).
