Role Summary
Operator, Formulation (Day Shift) at Lilly. Responsible for supporting start up activities during project phase, including formulation, aseptic isolator barrier filling, and visual inspection; later, ensure continuous supply by running processes, troubleshooting, and collaborating cross-functionally. Responsibilities
- Provide leadership on manufacturing floor ensuring high level of safety, quality, and productivity to maintain reliable supply of products to patients.
- Maintain a safe work environment, support HSE goals, and teach proper techniques.
- Act as administrator and technical leader for operations; demonstrate procedural knowledge and quality system compliance.
- Lead troubleshooting as the primary point of contact on the shop floor; administer technical training for operators.
- Operate equipment and perform activities to meet production schedule; assist in checking execution documentation (Electronic Batch Record, SAP, Cleaning Logs).
- Drive safety, reduce deviations, improve productivity, and ensure training compliance.
- Support site leadership to build a diverse and capable site by delivering area procedures, quality processes, and controls.
- Coordinate with support functions as a key liaison.
Qualifications
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to effectively communicate (electronic, written, and verbal).
- Flexibility to troubleshoot and triage challenges.
- Computer proficiency (desktop software, MS Office).
- A valid driver's license.
- Must pass a vision exam and be free of color blindness; 20/20 close vision acuity (correctable).
- Ability to work 6am to 6pm on a 2-2-3 schedule; ability to work overtime and wear safety equipment; gown in a cleanroom (Grade C, ISO 8).
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship expected).
Skills
- Leadership and training/education of team members (Senior/Lead roles).
- STEM degree or certifications; knowledge of CGMPs.
- Aseptic filling, single-use assemblies, isolator technology; automated/manual inspection.
- Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch release; continuous improvement methods (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Experience with highly automated equipment (inspection, packaging, filling, assembly); SAP and Electronic Batch Records.
Education
- STEM degree or certifications (preferred for certain levels).
- High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a fitness for duty physical exam.
- Ability to travel domestically (2–4 week trips or 3–9 month assignments) with potential international travel.
