Role Overview:
- CAR-T Operations 2nd Shift Manager (exempt), Technical Operations; onsite Monday–Friday on 2nd shift. Oversee production of personalized cell therapy for clinical and commercial needs in a sterile cGMP environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee cell therapy production; ensure safe, compliant cGMP manufacturing.
- Serve as site resource/point of contact for 2nd shift employees and primary contact for 2nd shift supervisors.
- Take direction from Associate Director/Senior Managers; oversee hiring, development, and performance management; assign staff to execute daily schedules.
- Create/revise operational procedures (work instructions, master batch records, forms).
- Manage multiple work centers; ensure high-quality, compliant product supply; oversee production metrics.
- Support manufacturing investigations; manage change controls; maintain inspection readiness and support regulatory inspections.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality; lead operating review meetings and drive continuous improvement projects.
- Establish relationships with internal/external stakeholders at all levels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering (or related) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years operations experience in a cGMP biotech/biopharma environment, including 3+ years supervisory experience; Cell/Gene Therapy preferred.
Preferred/Skills:
- GMP/regulatory knowledge (FDA, EMA, global).
- Familiarity with MES/ERP and digital transformation; Operational Excellence/Lean is an asset.
- Strong partnerships in matrixed environments; independent execution; multitasking/prioritization; clear written/verbal communication.
- Analytical/problem-solving and change-agent mindset; basic project management.
- Ability to work shift schedules, including daily overtime/weekends and unplanned overtime.
