Role Summary

The Operation Associate Manager – Visual Inspection is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of Visual Inspection projects in the manufacturing process. They lead the area process team, manage improvement projects and process improvements, and act as a liaison between operations and multiple support groups. They provide supervisory coverage in the absence of the Senior Manager and drive safe, data-driven process improvements in Visual Inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment, lead safety initiatives, and support all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
  • Develop and monitor metrics for the Visual Inspection area.
  • Provide education on concepts to the team.
  • Drive projects for improvement and lead process enhancements for the area.
  • Provide leadership in Visual Inspection and related process improvements for the process team.
  • Lead and support cross-functional projects and initiatives driven by business needs or the process team.
  • Investigate problems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement countermeasures.
  • Potential to back up Leader and Team Leader; lead specific functions of the process team.
  • Lead by example using data to influence change and improvement; ensure safety practices and policies are followed.
  • Complete safety audits; participate in safety improvements and reduction of incidents.
  • Support future department projects; write deviations as required.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in a science-based or STEM/technical field.
  • Required: 2 to 5 years Parenteral Operations experience or support preferred.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability; strong written and verbal communication; teamwork and influence.
  • Solid technical writing skills; ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks; proficiency in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deviation, CAPA, investigation experience.
  • Previous leadership / supervisory experience.
  • Career interests in operations leadership.
  • Previous engineering or project management experience in pharmaceutical field.

Additional Requirements

  • Day shift with some flexibility for potential 24/7 operation; may attend meetings or support off-shifts as necessary.
  • Some allergens are present in the parenteral plant; mobility requirements and exposure to allergens should be considered when applying.
  • Travel required for visits to other Lilly sites (5-10%).
