The Oncology Account Manager will serve as a critical member of the Customer Engagement Team and will be responsible for meeting sales targets and tailoring resources to customer needs through deep understanding of requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Holistically support and manage territory accounts by building relationships with physicians, allied healthcare professionals (Advanced Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists), and business stakeholders (CFOs, Office Practice Managers, Billers, etc.).
- Maintain deep understanding of territory: Opinion Leaders and influencers, treatment/utilization trends, payer and reimbursement dynamics, and competitive opportunities/challenges.
- Analyze business performance by creating and executing a comprehensive territory plan, including unique account plans, branded sales messages, planned programs, and scheduling/follow-up of medical education programs; achieve/exceed sales targets.
- Demonstrate clinical/disease/product expertise and deliver strategic customer education.
- Partner with internal stakeholders inside/outside commercial organization to ensure strategic alignment and execution.
- Implement processes for appropriate patient identification and treatment management.
- Develop external relationships with account stakeholders (including HCPs and advanced practice providers).
- Drive results using oncology/disease state awareness and industry/regulatory/competitive changes.
Desired Experience/Education and Personal Attributes:
- Strong clinical selling, communication/presentation, teamwork, self-starter, and strategic/forward thinking skills.
- BA/BS or healthcare equivalent degree required.
- Minimum 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech/medical sales experience; strong preference for Oncology/Hematology.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical marketplace and healthcare trends.
- Collaboration and success in matrixed settings.
- Strong negotiation, partnering, and influencing skills.
- Experience managing business relationships with external strategic partners.
- Prior large accounts and/or hospital experience required.
- Successful product launch experience required.
- Prior pharma/biotech start-up experience preferred.
- Technologically savvy; uses data and advanced analytics to drive results.
- Frequent overnight travel; occasional weekend travel.
- Valid driverβs license and reliable access to personal vehicle.
