Oligonucleotide Process Technology Co-op (Spring 2027)

Description:
Wave Life Sciences seeks a highly motivated co-op student (Lexington, Massachusetts). The co-op will gain exposure to oligonucleotide synthesis, chromatographic purification, tangential flow filtration (TFF), and analysis. Co-ops are trained on laboratory techniques and instrumentation. Organic chemistry or Biochemistry laboratory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Reagent preparation & column packing for oligo synthesis
- Buffer preparation, cleaning, and sanitization of equipment
- Purification of oligonucleotides
- Oligonucleotide synthesis preparation and handling of amidites
- Oligo quantitation using spectrophotometers
- Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) of purified oligos
- Operate automated oligonucleotide synthesizers, purifiers, TFF systems, and lyophilizers
- Analyze oligonucleotide samples by UPLC and LC-MS
- Use Excel spreadsheets for data processing, analysis, and interpretation
- Document experiments in an electronic notebook (ELN)
- Batch record review
- Inventory maintenance

- Effective communication; ability to present experimental results at group meetings
