Role Summary
Oligo Chemistry and Biochemistry Co-op (Spring 2026) at Wave Life Sciences in Cambridge, MA. The role offers exposure to oligonucleotide chemistry, biochemistry and bioanalytical chemistry, with training across laboratory techniques and instruments in a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary biotech environment. Prior organic chemistry or biochemistry laboratory experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the upstream and downstream biochemical and biological analysis of oligonucleotides
- Prepare reagents and buffers for biochemical experiments by measuring the weight of organic compounds and the volume of solutions
- Prepare buffer solutions of specified molarity for Liquid Chromatography (LC) analysis of oligonucleotides
- Assist in the operation of Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) system and be able to learn and work on the system
- Assist in the physicochemical experiments (thermal denaturing experiments, etc.) of oligonucleotides
- Maintain a detailed report of experimental procedures and findings in electronic lab notebooks
- Use pH meter, Nanodrop to record data
- Use MS Excel is preferred
Qualifications
- Required: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Preferred: Organic chemistry or biochemistry laboratory experience

- Present experimental data in team meetings
- Eager to learn about instrumentation and work with new technology
- Adherence to lab safety protocols including use of PPE
