Role Summary

Maintenance Trainee performs basic maintenance functions e.g. diaphragm changes, basic inspections, and parts passivation. Assists senior mechanics on higher level maintenance jobs like still PMs, running pipe, and welding. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for routine preventive maintenance along with troubleshooting and corrective maintenance. Maintain site mechanical equipment to include but not limited to: pumps, rotating equipment, high purity piping, valves, WFI systems, filtration systems, chromatography columns, steam systems, heat exchangers and material handling.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic maintenance tasks and assist senior mechanics on more complex jobs
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems
  • Maintain and operate mechanical equipment and systems as assigned

Qualifications

  • Maintenance Trainee: High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of relevant experience in maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical trades, or utility equipment operation OR a technical associateโ€™s degree in place of the experience referenced above
  • Mechanical Maintenance Tech 1: Associate's degree in the mechanical maintenance field plus 2 years relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience

Skills

  • Basic mechanical maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance procedures
  • Welding and pipefitting experience (preferred)

Education

  • Associateโ€™s degree in mechanical maintenance or related field (for level 1); or equivalent experience as specified

Additional Requirements

  • Location: North America, USA, NC-Clayton
  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating shift (days and nights)
