Role Summary

Neuroscience District Sales Manager (Psychiatry) – NY-NJ District.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a specialty sales team in the psychiatry/CNS therapeutic area within the NY-NJ district.
  • Recruit, retain, and coach high-performing sales representatives; mentor the field team to achieve sales objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to execute district business plans and drive consistent performance.
  • Manage relationships with healthcare providers and customer facilities; ensure credentialing requirements are met.
  • Analyze performance data, develop strategies, and adjust plans to meet district goals.
  • Travel up to 75% to cover the district territory and support field activities.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree a plus.
  • Required: 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with 4 years of sales management experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Preferred: CNS/psychiatry/schizophrenia/bipolar/depression specialty experience; other specialty experience considered.
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing specialty sales team; documented track record of sales and leadership success.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license and clean driving history; ability to secure and maintain industry-standard credentialing.
  • Required: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills; ability to build and sustain positive relationships; strong analytical and business acumen.
  • Required: Reside near a major airport within the district; able to maintain effectiveness in an innovative work environment; experience in small company/start-up settings.

Skills

  • Excellent people management and supervisory capabilities; ability to develop and coach specialty sales representatives.
  • Clinical, patient-centric and tactical with strong communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, written).
  • Strong work ethic; self-motivated; capable of independent decision-making.
  • Dynamic, high-impact presenter with effective selling and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities; quick situational assessment.
  • Technical aptitude; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree a plus.
