Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and product promotion strategy.
- Analyze local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of products, disease areas, competition, and reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time) in territory.
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete monitoring/reporting (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
- Meet industry-standard credentialing requirements for healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
- Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- BS/BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years pharmaceutical sales experience preferred; may be considered for “Associate” if not.
- Preferred: atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience; specialty experience in psychiatry/bipolar/depression/CNS or pain management.
- Preferred: reimbursement experience.
- Preferred relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers (existing or within 24 months) in territory.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Self-starter; goal/results-driven; “hunter” mentality; strong territory relationships.
- Ability to travel (may include overnights); occasional out-of-territory travel; may include meetings outside normal hours.
- Must reside within territory geography.
