Primary Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products aligned to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate frequently with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy for product promotion activities.
- Analyze the local market; develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in the defined territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) in the territory.
- Use advanced selling and negotiation skills to communicate effectively with target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Complete monitoring and reporting requirements (expenses and call reporting) using approved systems.
- Maintain full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Meet credentialing requirements for healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
- Additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements
- BS or BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred; may be considered for “Associate” if not met.
- Preferred: atypical anti-psychotic and/or orphan drug experience; specialty experience in psychiatry/bipolar/depression/CNS or pain management; reimbursement experience.
- Preferred relationships (or within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in territory.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
- Self-starter with proven above-average results; “hunter” mentality.
- Strong territory knowledge/relationships.
- Ability to travel (may include overnights); out-of-territory travel to HQs, training, and sales meetings.
- Work hours may include meetings outside normal hours; must reside within territory geography.
