Role Summary

Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) – Santa Monica, CA. Exceed established goals by delivering real value to customers through differentiated products and services within a dynamic neuroscience sales organization.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and promote products in alignment to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy direction related to product promotion activities.
  • Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate use of the product in the territory.
  • Maintain a high and current level of product, disease, competitive and market reimbursement knowledge.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation within the territory.
  • Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems and processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Meet and comply with reasonable industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers and facilities.
  • Complete additional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA with GPA greater than 3.0.
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred.
  • Candidates not meeting work experience requirements may be considered for the “Associate” role.
  • Atypical antipsychotic experience and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS or pain management.
  • Reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Existing relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in the territory is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
  • Self-starter, goal- and results-driven with a proven track record of above-average results.
  • Fortitude to sell and compete with a hunter mentality.
  • Strong relationships and knowledge of the territory preferred.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnights); travel to HQs, training, and meetings may be required.
  • Work hours may include meetings outside of normal working hours.
  • Must reside within the territory geography.

  • Clinical, patient-centric approach with strong communication (interpersonal, verbal, written) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex markets and organizations.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, customer-focused, and proficient with computers.

Education

  • BS or BA with GPA greater than 3.0.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; ability to operate a motor vehicle for local, regional, and occasional overnight travel.
  • Physical ability to lift/move items up to 15 pounds may be required.
