Role Summary

Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) in San Francisco, CA. Exceed established goals by delivering value to customers through differentiated products and services within a neuroscience portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and promote products in alignment to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy related to product promotion.
  • Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize product use in the territory.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competitive landscape, and market reimbursement.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) within the territory.
  • Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems.
  • Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Meet reasonable credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with GPA > 3.0.
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience (preferred).
  • Candidate may be considered for an Associate role if experience is insufficient.
  • Experience with atypical antipsychotics and/or orphan drugs preferred.
  • Preferred specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management.
  • Reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Existing relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving history.
  • Self-starter with goal- and results-driven attitude; proven above-average results.
  • Hunter mentality with strong territory knowledge.
  • Ability to travel (overnights possible).
  • Willingness for out-of-territory travel to HQs, training, and meetings; work hours may extend beyond normal hours.
  • Residence within territory geography.

Skills

  • Clinical, patient-centric approach with excellent communication (interpersonal, verbal, written).
  • Ability to navigate complex markets and organizations.
  • Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and multi-priority management.
  • Effective selling and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in using tools for travel, expense, and reporting; valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree; GPA > 3.0.
