Role Summary

Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) in Richmond, VA. The role focuses on executing and promoting products within the assigned territory, building strategic customer relationships, and delivering value through differentiated products and services to exceed sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and promote products in alignment to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager to respond to day-to-day sales and strategy direction related to product promotion activities.
  • Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in the defined territory.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competitive landscape, and market reimbursement.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) within the territory.
  • Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems and processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Meet and comply with credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, facilities, and state/local governments.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA with GPA greater than 3.0.
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred; consideration for Associate role if not meeting experience.
  • Atypical antipsychotic experience and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
  • Preferred specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS or pain management.
  • Reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Existing relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers preferred.
  • Valid driverβ€šΓ„Γ΄s license and clean driving history.
  • Self-starter, goal- and results-driven with a proven track record.
  • Fortitude to sell and compete with a hunter mentality.
  • Strong territory knowledge and relationships preferred.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnights); possible out-of-territory travel to HQs, training, and meetings.
  • Work hours may include meetings outside normal hours; must reside within territory geography.

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; ability to operate a vehicle for local, regional, and occasional overnight travel.
  • Physical ability to lift/move items up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Education

  • BS or BA degree required.
