Role Summary

Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) operating in Portland, OR. Responsible for exceeding sales goals by delivering value to customers through differentiated products and services within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and promote products in alignment to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy direction related to product promotion activities.
  • Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in the defined territory.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competitive landscape, and market reimbursement.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation within the territory.
  • Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems.
  • Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Meet and comply with credentialing requirements for healthcare providers and facilities as needed.
  • Perform additional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA with GPA > 3.0.
  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred; consideration for Associate role if requirements not met.
  • Atypical antipsychotic experience and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
  • Preferred specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management.
  • Reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Existing relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers preferred.
  • Valid driverโ€šร„รดs license and clean driving history.
  • Self-starter with goal- and results-driven mindset; proven track record.
  • Strong territory knowledge and ability to travel (including overnight).
  • Willingness for out-of-territory travel to HQs, training, and meetings; flexible hours.
  • Must reside within territory geography.

  • Strong selling and negotiation skills with ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Clinical, patient-centric approach with excellent communication (interpersonal, verbal, written).
  • Ability to navigate complex markets and organizations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with computer tools and systems; capable of documentation and reporting.

Education

  • BS or BA required; GPA > 3.0.

Additional Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driverโ€šร„รดs license and acceptable driving record; able to operate a vehicle for local, regional, and occasional overnight travel.
  • May involve lifting/moving up to 15 pounds.
