Role Summary

The Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) is responsible for exceeding sales goals by delivering value to customers through differentiated products and services in the assigned territory, reporting to the Neuroscience District Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and promote products in alignment to the sales strategy in the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the District Sales Manager to respond to day-to-day sales and strategy direction related to product promotion activities.
  • Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in the defined territory.
  • Maintain current knowledge of product, disease, competition, and market reimbursement.
  • Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) within the territory.
  • Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
  • Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
  • Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
  • Manage travel and promotional budget.
  • Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems and processes.
  • Maintain compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Meet and comply with credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, customer facilities, and state/local governments.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS or BA with GPA greater than 3.0.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred; candidates not meeting experience requirements may be considered for the “Associate” role.
  • Experience preferences: Atypical antipsychotic experience and/or orphan drug experience preferred; psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS or pain management experience considered; reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Relationships: Existing relationships (or those within 24 months) with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in the assigned territory preferred.

  • May require lifting/moving items up to 15 pounds.

Education

  • BS or BA with GPA greater than 3.0.

Additional Requirements

  • Must reside within the territory geography.
  • Ability to travel (may include overnights) and potential out-of-territory travel to HQs, training, and sales meetings.
  • Work hours may include meetings outside of normal working hours.
