Role Summary
Neuroscience Account Manager (Psychiatry) in Des Moines, IA. Responsible for exceeding sales goals by delivering value to customers through differentiated products and services within the assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Execute and promote products in alignment to sales strategy in the assigned territory.
- Collaborate with the District Sales Manager on day-to-day sales and strategy direction related to product promotion activities.
- Analyze local market, develop, execute, and monitor performance to maximize appropriate product use in the territory.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product, disease area, competition, and market reimbursement.
- Determine, implement, and monitor optimal resource allocation (budgets, time, etc.) within the territory.
- Communicate effectively using advanced selling and negotiation skills to identified target audiences.
- Identify, build, and leverage advocacy channels.
- Secure product access and reimbursement within institutional systems as needed.
- Manage travel and promotional budget.
- Fulfill monitoring and reporting requirements including expenses and call reporting using approved systems and processes.
- Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Meet and comply with credentialing requirements of healthcare providers, facilities, and governments as applicable.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- BS or BA with GPA > 3.0.
- Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred (associate role available for lesser experience).
- Atypical antipsychotic experience and/or orphan drug experience preferred.
- Preferred specialty experience in psychiatry, bipolar, depression, CNS, or pain management.
- Reimbursement experience preferred.
- Existing relationships with psychiatrists and/or Community Mental Health Centers in the territory preferred.
- Valid driverβs license and clean driving history.
- Self-starter, goal- and results-driven with a proven track record.
- Fortitude to sell and compete with a hunter mentality.
- Strong relationships and knowledge of the territory preferred.
- Ability to travel (may include overnights) and possibly travel to HQs for training and meetings.
- Work hours may include meetings outside of normal hours.
- Residency within the territory required.
