Role Summary

The National Business Director (NBD) for the Northeast Region leads and supervises a geography-specific sales organization, directly overseeing Regional Business Directors. The role drives geography-specific sales performance, serves as a product champion, and leverages a sophisticated digital infrastructure to support commercial execution. The NBD uses local market knowledge to assess stakeholders and future trends, shaping strategies that optimize results for patients and the business.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise operations of the assigned geographic area, including hiring and coaching sales leaders, RBD development, performance management, and HCP engagement
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the geography, balancing live and virtual interactions and prioritizing team efforts
  • Plan, organize, and monitor performance to achieve the business potential
  • Ensure timely patient access through patient services and engagement with Local and Regional payers in partnership with the Market Access team
  • Establish and maintain effective communication among all members of the cross-functional commercial team
  • Maintain required technical expertise to respond accurately to questions regarding products, marketing strategy and messaging, commercial operations tools, policies, and other business-related issues from customers and the sales team
  • Work in-field or virtually with all team members to coach and counsel on coaching/selling skills, performance management, and product knowledge to develop personnel for proficiency in live and virtual engagements
  • Plan and conduct plan-of-action and other meetings to ensure strategic alignment and execution
  • Develop and implement business plans and oversee the promotional budget in alignment with Regional and National expectations
  • Maintain a complete understanding of relevant compliance laws, policies, and processes and ensure actions of self and team are compliant
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of field leadership experience and/or payer account management (Required)
  • Demonstrated experience delivering outstanding results and developing others to their potential (Required)
  • Previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience preferred, with at least three to five years spent in a position with demonstrated leadership across peer and customer groups (Preferred)
  • Relevant disease experience strongly preferred, but not required (Preferred)
  • Launch experience strongly preferred (Preferred)
  • Experience to strategize within teams using differential resources to reach business goals (Preferred)
  • Proven ability to run multiple tasks concurrently under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment (Preferred)
  • Comfortable with uncertainty and high expectations (Preferred)
  • Patient support services experience a plus (Preferred)
  • Strong digital marketing aptitude (Preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills (Preferred)
