Job Summary
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to optimize access, sales, and outcomes for Akebiaβs approved product.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Large and Medium dialysis organizations (LDOs/MDOs), including engagement with population health decision-makers and leadership (RVPs, Area/Directors, RQMs).
- Build partnerships with Nephrology Large Group Practices (LGPs) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).
- Drive dialysis pull-through of Akebia National Account strategies, including alignment and execution of Vafseo adoption and related LGP pull-through.
- Serve as the link between Akebia National Account strategies and key customers; work closely with National Account Directors and Medical Affairs.
Essential Functions & Duties
- Develop and execute national/regional account strategies aligned to business objectives.
- Secure and expand Vafseo access and support account adoption.
- Conduct strategic business planning and quarterly business reviews with assigned executives.
- Develop and execute programs with LDO/MDO and LGP leadership.
- Support Regional Medical Director and physician programs.
- Communicate clinical, business, and health economic data to customers.
- Advocate for Vafseo utilization through strategic programs.
- Maintain customer profiles/affiliations, meet MBO metrics, and communicate organizational changes.
- Work with Medical Affairs to educate customers and support business initiatives.
- Analyze information and deliver impactful presentations.
- Partner with Legal/Regulatory/Compliance on communication strategies.
- Drive HCP pull-through of strategic initiatives.
- Travel up to 50% within the U.S.
Qualifications
- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in renal or similar therapeutic space.
- Proven account management track record.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years in biopharmaceutical industry.
- Established relationships with national dialysis customers and/or Nephrology LGPs.
- Strategic partnership-building ability.
- Strong planning, organization, communication, negotiation, presentation, compliance mindset.
- Team selling skills; experience in startup/small company environments.
- Clinical/technical/scientific aptitude for complex disease; renal business and reimbursement knowledge.
- Experience integrating health economics and Medical Affairs; CMS TDAPA reimbursement knowledge a plus.
Compensation/Benefits
- Targeted Base: $178,664β$220,703. Additional rewards may include bonus/incentive and equity; health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO.
Primary Region
- Northern California (San Francisco, Fresno, Oakland/Fremont, Sacramento).
