Role: The National Account Manager (NAM) develops and executes strategic account plans to enhance access, sales, and outcomes for Akebia's approved products within dialysis organizations and nephrology practices, primarily in Northern California. Responsibilities include driving strategies that secure Vafseo adoption, managing relationships with Large Dialysis Organizations (LDOs), Medium (MDOs), Large Group Practices (LGPs), and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and aligning account initiatives with business goals. The role involves engaging with health decision-makers, supporting regional medical programs, and ensuring compliance while communicating clinical and economic data effectively. The NAM collaborates closely with National Account Directors, Medical Affairs, and internal teams to facilitate strategic partnerships and pull-through activities. They also analyze data and develop compelling presentations to drive behavior change. Requirements: BA/BS (advanced degree preferred), minimum 5 years of experience in renal or similar therapeutic space, with proven account management skills. Preferred qualifications include 10+ years in biopharma, established relationships with dialysis providers/nephrology practices, and expertise in healthcare economics, reimbursement logistics, and strategic planning. High-value specifics: Focus on chronic kidney disease, dialysis, Vafseo (a therapeutic agent), and related health economic strategies within the renal space. Work setup: Based in Cambridge, MA, transitioning to Waltham, MA, with up to 50% travel within the U.S.
