About The Role
Responsible for securing and optimizing access for Neurocrine brands across assigned payer accounts, including National and Regional Managed Care Organizations, PBMs, and State Medicaid programs. Builds strategic relationships that advance patient access, reimbursement, and utilization while optimizing gross-to-net performance.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to)
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with payer stakeholders by understanding organizational structure, clinical/economic priorities, and decision-making processes.
- Develop and execute account-specific business plans; monitor formulary status, contract performance, patient access, and financial performance.
- Serve as primary conduit between national accounts and internal stakeholders; communicate contract changes and payer-driven requests.
- Partner with Pricing & Contracting to develop, negotiate, and implement payer contracting strategies to optimize access while preserving gross-to-net.
- Manage trade-offs among formulary access, utilization management (PA/ST), and rebate structures.
- Identify and implement non-contracting solutions (policy engagement, exception pathways, education).
- Analyze account performance (formulary positioning, PA/ST criteria, claims trends, competitive dynamics, gross-to-net) and adjust strategy.
- Monitor KPIs (access, utilization, rebate spend, net revenue contribution).
- Provide insights to Market Access leadership; collaborate cross-functionally for aligned execution and field pull-through.
- Present payer insights during business reviews and contribute to brand strategy.
- Monitor healthcare policy/reimbursement trends (Medicare Part D, Medicaid, PBM dynamics) and translate insights into recommendations.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Business, Marketing, or Scientific field and 12+ years managing national/regional payer accounts (Managed Care, PBMs, and/or Medicaid); behavioral health setting highly preferred.
- OR: Masterβs degree/MBA preferred and 10+ years of similar experience.
Desired Skills/Qualifications
- Experience establishing payer relationships and engaging formulary decision-makers (P&T committees, medical/pharmacy directors, executives).
- Proven formulary access/reimbursement success for specialty pharmaceuticals.
- Deep contracting/rebate negotiation experience and execution of access agreements.
- Strong gross-to-net and financial modeling/analysis skills.
- U.S. payer landscape expertise (Medicare Part D, Medicaid, commercial), utilization management (PA/ST), and reimbursement policy knowledge.
- Executive communication, negotiation, analytics/KPI management, and cross-functional leadership (Market Access, HEOR, Marketing, Patient Services, Sales, Medical, Compliance, Legal, Pricing, Finance).
