Job Summary
- The TA NA Medical Head leads the NA Medical TA organization within the General Medicines group.
- Lead the development, execution, and monitoring of medical brand(s) strategies; work with the TA medical team and functional leads on tactics and associated budget.
- Collaborate with Global Medical, R&D, Commercial, Drug Safety, Compliance, Legal and Regulatory; deputize for the Head of NA Gen Med Medical on TA matters.
- Lead, plan, and provide medical expertise.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and focus to the NA TA Medical team to deliver key NA Medical strategy and priorities.
- Lead/develop/recruit a collaborative team; oversee development, execution, and oversight of TA Medical brand strategy and TA Medical budget.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (Global Medical, R&D, Commercial, Regulatory, Legal, Scientific Communications, Pharmacovigilance, Public Affairs).
- Represent the function externally; engage HCPs, thought leaders, medical associations, professional societies, and other key organizations.
- Use field medical insights to inform the Medical Plan.
- Identify and implement impactful medical research projects (Sanofi-sponsored, external collaborations, investigator-initiated studies).
- Coordinate/execute other NA medical affairs functions (e.g., compassionate use programs).
- Integrate health economics research into customer programs and initiatives.
- Apply epidemiology, biostatistics, and health economics/policy knowledge.
- Ensure integrity and compliance aligned with FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other ethical guidelines.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree required (M.D., PhD, PharmD, or equivalent preferred).
- 7+ years job-related experience required (clinical/medical/academia preferred).
- Transplant experience strongly preferred; open to other TAs (e.g., oncology, hematology).
- Travel up to 30–40% domestic and international.
- Must be able to work in the office 3 days/week.
Professional/Leadership Competencies
- Functional expertise in treatments, product labeling, and federal regulations for pharmaceutical promotion and industry-sponsored activities.
- Strong scientific/business acumen; business planning and leadership (data analysis, goal setting, action plans, monitoring).
- Experience translating clinical/medical information into medical affairs strategies.
- Ability to lead/influence teams and manage diverse work groups.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex evidence to senior management and external stakeholders.
