Position Summary
The Molecular Technologist – Liquid Profiling performs routine high-complexity molecular techniques including blood processing and buffy coat extraction, RNA/DNA extractions, PCR, Next-Generation Sequencing, equipment maintenance, laboratory inventory, sample tracking, and package receiving.

Responsibilities
- Prepare samples (blood centrifugation, plasma processing, buffy coat extractions).
- Perform RNA/DNA extractions for daily molecular testing; ensure correct patient labeling.
- Run real-time PCR and Next-Generation Sequencing.
- Prepare CAPA documents for nonconformance events across pre-/analytical/post-analytical testing.
- Support continuous process improvements, validations, and proficiency testing.
- Track and monitor patient files in the Laboratory Information System.
- Maintain laboratory equipment (cleaning, sterilizing, maintenance, shutdown) and complete required logs.
- Follow specimen handling/processing, testing, reporting procedures; maintain patient result records.
- Document that proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
- Follow quality control policies; document QC, calibrations, and maintenance.
- Identify and address issues affecting test performance/reporting; notify supervisors as needed.
- Document corrective actions when performance specs are not met.
- Perform high complexity testing under onsite direct supervision (CLIA).
- Accept other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Molecular Technologist I: BS in a scientific field; <1 year relevant experience.
- Molecular Technologist II: BS in a scientific field; 3+ years relevant molecular lab experience.
- BS in chemical/biological/clinical/medical laboratory science or medical technology (accredited).
- Technical data interpretation and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook); basic business internet use; skilled operating office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
- MS in relevant science/medical technology.
- RNA/DNA extraction experience; nucleic acid extraction experience.
- Next-Generation Sequencing experience.
- Knowledge of lab safety (biohazards/chemicals) and quality control procedures/regulations.
