Role: The Medical Value Director is a field-based Medical Affairs professional focusing on payer and reimbursement stakeholder engagement to support product access and reimbursement strategies. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining relationships with payers, delivering balanced scientific presentations, developing payer-facing materials, translating clinical evidence into payer-relevant insights, and gathering payer market intelligence. The role collaborates closely with Market Access, HEOR/RWE, and internal Medical teams to inform evidence needs and reimbursement strategies. The incumbent supports regulatory compliance, develops and updates payer materials (e.g., decks, Letters of Medical Necessity), and provides internal training on payer insights. Qualifications: Advanced scientific degrees (PhD, PharmD, MD, etc.) with 5+ years of Medical Science Liaison experience supporting rare disease or orphan products, particularly in genetics or metabolic disorders such as Phenylketonuria. Experience with high-cost specialty products, payer engagement, and RWE/HEOR concepts is essential. Strong communication skills, ability to influence without authority, and experience presenting to payers, clinicians, and KOLs are required. The position demands 50-60% travel and is field-based within the East or Central US time zones.
