Role Summary

This position will apply technical expertise to support biomarker assays—primarily IHC, multiplex immunofluorescence and digital imaging—within our CLIA/CAP framework, and work closely with our biomarker platform team to advance our precision medicines in oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Execute validated high‚Äëcomplexity tests, including IHC and multiplex immunofluorescence staining, slide prep, and quantitative image analysis.
  • Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
  • Participate in proficiency testing and regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
  • Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
  • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, or Laboratory Director.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
  • General lab maintenance responsibilities include but are not limited to cleaning, safety checks, equipment monitoring, environmental testing, inventory, receiving, and reagent manufacturing.
  • Work on special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in medical technology, histology, biology, or related field.
  • Preferred: ASCP or AMT certification.
  • Required: Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical or research pathology laboratory.

Skills

  • Familiarity with histology, IHC (including both bright field and fluorescence techniques), and digital pathology platforms preferred.
  • Detail‚Äëoriented, precise, and adept at working in regulated environments.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to participate constructively on cross-functional and diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for operating laboratory equipment.
  • Visual acuity for microscopic examination and computer use.
