Role Summary
Medical Specialist II – Ophthalmology, Albany, NY. The role will report to the Regional Director and be responsible for developing and managing relationships with retina specialists and other customer accounts in the assigned territory to grow revenues and meet product goals. The primary focus will be on approved indications related to diabetic eye conditions. The Medical Specialist provides technical and clinical product knowledge and support and leverages marketing and operations resources to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction. Territory includes Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, White Plains, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with retina specialists and other customer accounts in the assigned territory to grow revenues and achieve product goals.
- Focus on approved indications related to diabetic eye conditions.
- Provide technical and clinical product knowledge and support and effectively utilize marketing and operations resources to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Required: BA/BS in science or business (master’s degree a plus); minimum of 5 years’ specialty sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry; Buy and Bill experience; based in or near the assigned territory (relocation not provided); willing to travel up to 40%.
- Preferred: Ophthalmology with relevant retina experience.
- Territory includes major metropolitan areas such as Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, White Plains, and surrounding areas.
