Role: Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Rare Diseases (GPA/MPA and Sjogren’s Disease), responsible for scientific engagement with opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and population health decision makers in the San Francisco Bay Area and northern Nevada. Objectives: to advance Amgen’s scientific platform, support research, and improve patient outcomes through peer-to-peer education and external collaboration. Responsibilities: conduct scientific exchanges, communicate clinical and economic data, support sponsored and investigator-initiated research, and contribute to congress activities and speaker training. Core activities include building strong external relationships, providing insights to internal teams, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Qualifications: Doctorate degree or Master’s degree with 3+ years of Medical Affairs experience, or Bachelor’s with 5+ years in a medically related field. Preferred: Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O., with 5+ years’ experience, including clinical or research focus on Rare Diseases such as GPA/MPA or Sjogren’s. High-Value: Rare Disease therapeutics, clinical data exchange, medical research support, and regional stakeholder engagement. Collaboration: cross-functional partnership within Amgen to ensure coordinated scientific communication. Work setup: Field-based role requiring travel within the designated territory. The position emphasizes scientific expertise, relationship management, and strategic execution aligned with Amgen’s therapeutic focus areas.
