Role Summary
Medical Science Liaison (Psychiatry) supports Medical Affairs by engaging with expert healthcare professionals, communicating complex scientific information, and contributing to medical information and cross-departmental initiatives. The role involves scientific exchange, project participation, and effective communication across audiences, with a focus on psychiatry-related schizophrenia and mood disorders.
Responsibilities
- Engage in scientific exchange with expert healthcare professionals as part of the Medical Affairs team.
- Participate in Medical Affairs project assignments.
- Communicate scientific concepts effectively to multiple audiences — verbally, graphically, and in writing.
- Contribute to key department functions (e.g., medical information) and inter-departmental initiatives.
Qualifications
- Required: Doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, MD)
- Required: Prior experience in psychiatry-related field
- Preferred: Pharmaceutical industry experience in schizophrenia and mood disorders
- Preferred: 2+ years of previous experience as an MSL or in Medical Affairs
- Preferred: Experience in clinical research and/or direct patient care
- Required: Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a variety of audience types
- Required: Adept at building and maintaining relationships with others
- Required: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Required: Demonstrated ability to adapt within a dynamic environment
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel (75%) and easy access to a major metropolitan airport
