Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison for Neuro-Oncology, Northeast (Remote). Field-based role covering defined Northeast region with responsibility for developing professional relationships with medical thought leaders, providing medical information, and supporting Medical Affairs activities within the therapy area.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare providers within the therapeutic area.
  • Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with US Medical Affairs plans.
  • Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues and insights from KOLs to appropriate departments.
  • Participate in medical education for healthcare professionals (HCPs) through on-site presentations at healthcare institutions, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, or regional meetings.
  • Provide scientific support for additional activities such as medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the therapy area, Jazz products, emerging research, and competitive landscape.
  • Establish reputation as a trustworthy source of scientific and medical information for the healthcare community.
  • Support development of Jazz Pharmaceuticals positioning as a scientific authority; attend scientific congresses to stay current and support KOL activities and Jazz interests.
  • Acquire understanding of local and national clinical practice protocols and disease management trends in the US.
  • Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings.
  • Communicate emerging data and clinical experience through scientific exchange and peer-to-peer interactions.
  • Provide support for data generation activities (company-sponsored studies, collaboration studies, ISTs).
  • Support activities such as medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of the US Medical Plan and provide input into local strategies and tactics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure a Key Account Management approach.
  • Interacts with HCPs as a scientific resource to support activities aligned with the Medical Plan including advisory boards, speaker development and clinical trials.

Qualifications

  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ability to communicate complex scientific information; clear and concise communication; strong planning and organizational skills; strategic mindset; self-motivated and autonomous; adaptable and results-focused; strong negotiation and interpersonal skills; demonstrated collaboration with commercial teams while maintaining scientific integrity and compliance; proficient with digital platforms; excellent spoken English.
  • Preferred: experience supporting product launches in field medical capacity; ability to manage multiple molecules or therapeutic areas; experience in clinical trial site support and patient recruitment; understanding regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.

Education

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience in Oncology or Rare Disease is required.
  • License (RN, NP, CNP, PA or equivalent) with a Masterโ€™s Degree and minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience in Oncology or Rare Disease clinical practice is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an MSL or comparable role is required.
  • Experience in neuro-oncology is strongly preferred; prior MSL success is strongly preferred.
  • This is a field position; travel 60โ€“70% of the time required.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and residence within 60 miles of a major airport is required.
