Medical Science Liaison (Heme) West (CA, CO, UT, WA, OR)

Role: Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr MSL) serving as a scientific partner to HCPs in Hematology, focusing on Sickle Cell, Thalassemia, and Transplant. Objectives include building trusted relationships with Thought Leaders, providing scientific and clinical insights, and supporting medical strategy and education. Responsibilities entail engaging with key opinion leaders, incorporating medical plans into territory activities, utilizing CRM and analytics for effective engagement, and representing Vertex at medical congresses. The Sr MSL also supports clinical development by understanding IB content, contributing to site nominations, and assisting investigators with data reviews. Additionally, they may mentor colleagues and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Requirements include a minimum of a 5-year advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, etc.) and experience as an MSL or in related medical affairs roles, preferably in hematology or transplant. Essential skills encompass scientific communication, understanding of healthcare regulations, payer dynamics, and proficiency with CRM tools. The role requires up to 70% travel and fluency in English and the local language. High-value specifics include focus on hematology therapeutics, rare blood disorders, compliance with GxP, and engagement in scientific education and research support. Work setup involves field-based activities within a defined geographic territory.
