Medical Science Liaison (Heme) West (CA, CO, UT, WA, OR)

Role: Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr MSL) serving as a scientific representative to healthcare professionals, primarily in hematology areas such as Sickle Cell, Thalassemia, and Transplant. Objectives: build and maintain trusted relationships with Thought Leaders and HCPs, provide scientific and clinical insights to inform medical strategy, and support external scientific engagement activities. Responsibilities: develop HCP networks, incorporate medical plans into territory interactions, utilize CRM and analytics tools effectively, communicate complex scientific data credibly, and represent Vertex at medical congresses. Contribute to clinical development through understanding IB content, site nominations, and investigator interactions. Requirements: advanced biomedical or life sciences degree (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD), minimum 5 years’ experience in medical affairs or as an MSL, and proficiency in scientific communication, healthcare regulations, and CRM systems. Preferred: prior experience in hematology, payers, and health economics. High-Value: focus on hematology indications, with extensive engagement in scientific education, payer understanding, and external stakeholder interactions. Work setup involves up to 70% travel, including overnight trips, with a focus on compliance and ethical scientific exchange.
