Role: Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr MSL) serving as a scientific partner to medical and academic communities, focusing on hematology areas including Sickle Cell, Thalassemia, and Transplant. Objectives: to establish and maintain relationships with Thought Leaders and HCPs, provide scientific education, and contribute to medical strategy development. Responsibilities: develop trusted external relationships, incorporate scientific engagement models, gather feedback to shape medical plans, present complex scientific data compliantly, understand payer dynamics, support clinical trial activities (including IB content and site nominations), represent Vertex at medical congresses, and mentor colleagues. Requirements: advanced biomedical or life sciences degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD), minimum 5 yearsβ experience in Medical Affairs or comparable roles, strong knowledge of hematology, healthcare regulations, and payer landscape; proficiency in CRM and analytics tools; excellent communication skills in English and local language; valid driver's license with up to 70% travel. Preferred: prior experience in hematology or transplant therapeutic areas, familiarity with Health Economics and Outcomes Research. High-Value: focus on hematology, patient-centric scientific engagement, clinical development support, and congress representation. Work setup: travel-intensive role with a focus on external stakeholder interactions.
