The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based role covering Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare providers in the Epilepsy therapeutic area
- Develop and execute territory plans aligned with US Medical Affairs plans
- Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues and insights from KOLs to appropriate departments
- Participate in medical education for HCPs via on-site presentations, investigator meetings, national conferences, advisory boards, and regional meetings
- Provide scientific support for medical congress staffing, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives
- Maintain up-to-date, high-level knowledge of the therapy area, Jazz products, emerging research, therapeutic trends, and competitive landscape
- Serve as a scientific expert and trustworthy source of medical/scientific information for the healthcare community
- Attend appropriate scientific congresses to stay abreast of developments and support KOL activities
- Acquire broad understanding of US clinical practice protocols and disease management trends
- Provide clinical presentations and respond to unsolicited questions (as appropriate) in group and one-on-one settings
- Communicate emerging data and product clinical experience objectively, including benefits and risks
- Act as primary liaison to investigators interested in investigator-initiated trials (IIT)
- Monitor IITs, review study design, and oversee milestones for investigator- or company-sponsored clinical research
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs/clinical teams to support patient enrollment in sponsored trials with site recommendations
- Contribute to development of the US Medical Plan and provide input into local strategies/tactics
- Where needed, manage relevant budget to support Medical Plan execution
- Work cross-functionally to support a Key Account Management approach
- Interact with HCPs as a scientific resource for advisory boards, speaker development, and clinical trials
- Enhance Jazzβs image through meaningful scientific exchange
- Document and forward adverse events and product complaints per company policy
- Adhere to applicable national and local Codes of Practice and act ethically with integrity
- Maintain a written development plan and prepare timely reporting

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- MS/Advanced Practice in a scientific/medical discipline with at least 5 years epilepsy experience, or MD, PharmD, or PhD (required)
- Experience in Neurology or Psychiatry (required); Epilepsy experience strongly preferred
- Willing to travel 60β80% of the time (field position)
- Valid driverβs license and living within 60 miles of a major airport
