Medical Science Liaison, Cardiovascular – Michigan Territory

Role: Field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) supporting Michigan, focusing on advancing clinical practice and improving patient outcomes within assigned territories. Responsibilities include engaging healthcare professionals through scientific discussions on emerging data, clinical trials, disease states, and product use, while uncovering unmet medical needs and fostering partnerships with academic centers and healthcare systems. The MSL also supports company-sponsored trials and collaborates cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, HEOR, access, marketing, and sales teams. They maintain expert knowledge of therapeutic areas, products, and compliance standards, executing administrative duties via CRM tools and adhering to ethical and regulatory guidelines. Qualifications: Graduate degree in science or healthcare (MD, PhD, PharmD, etc.); 0-7+ years of relevant medical affairs or clinical research experience depending on seniority; strong clinical knowledge in pharmacotherapy, clinical research processes, and FDA promotional guidelines; residence within the territory or within 50 miles with a valid driver’s license; 60-70% travel expected. Preferred: prior experience in relevant therapeutic areas. High-value specifics include a focus on rare or specialty diseases, a therapeutic area likely aligned with Novartis’s pipeline, and a role centered on scientific engagement rather than promotional activities. The position requires compliance with company policies, local laws, and vaccination guidelines for customer-facing roles.
