Role Summary

Medical Science Liaison (California) β€” field-based role requiring residence in California. Serves as a key scientific resource for clinical trial investigators, key opinion leaders, and at medical meetings. Reports to the Director of Field Medical Affairs.

Responsibilities

  • MSL serves as a primary point of contact for clinical trial sites, representing EyePoint across multiple studies and fostering strong relationships to ensure site engagement, motivation, and effective communication.
  • Engage in scientific exchange and develop strong scientific relationships with national, regional, and local key opinion leaders and experts.
  • Ensure the appropriate dissemination of fair-balanced scientific information in a compliant and timely manner.
  • Provide scientific support at key regional and national congresses and, where appropriate, provide medical booth support.
  • Provide insights to internal colleagues gathered during scientific exchange with KOLs.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information in a timely manner.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with field-based colleagues and home office teams, legal, regulatory, market access, and medical/clinical operations in a compliant manner.
  • Adhere to internal and healthcare compliance guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with clinical trial support and product launches; retina experience; ability to synthesize and communicate medical information clearly; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented and results driven; knowledge of industry and regulatory compliance guidelines; valid US driver's license and good driving record; ability to travel ~60-80% including regional travel, medical meetings, conferences, team meetings, and clinical events; some weekend travel may be required.

Education

  • A doctoral degree (MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent) is preferred; a master’s degree (MSN, PA, etc.) with extensive MSL experience will be considered. Previous field medical or other medical/clinical affairs experience required.

Experience

  • 2 years or more in the function/industry; level based on experience.
