Role Summary
Medical Liaison - Obesity in Los Angeles working within Field Medical Affairs to advance scientific exchange between Novo Nordisk and external healthcare professionals. The role focuses on educating HCPs about clinical outcomes and benefits of NNI products, providing medical information, coordinating educational activities, and supporting collaboration with medical accounts and trial sites. The position requires a deep scientific education and experience to serve as a scientific liaison across Medical, Sales and Marketing, Managed Care, and Government segments.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties:
- Completes administrative duties accurately and on time, in line with SOPs and current practices
- Complies with guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
- Manages regional business and operational budgets effectively
- Maintains understanding of Novo Nordisk processes and assists others in applying them
- Provides monthly reports on scientific activities and budget expenditures
- Records activities in customer response management systems and expenses in Concur per procedures
- Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development:
- Attends medical and scientific meetings to stay current on data and issues related to NNI products
- Develops relationships with key health care providers and IHNs; promotes appropriate use of NNI products
- Supports representatives in answering questions from health care providers and IHNs
- Combines account management, business acumen, and scientific expertise to enhance value and collaboration
- Establishes medical account strategy through identification and cultivation of relationships
- Field-Based Clinical Support:
- Collaborates with HEOR to communicate scientific value to key customers and formulary decision makers
- Works with Marketing and Sales to inform scientific strategies for product development and activities
- Coordinates with trial sites to support studies, recruitment, retention, and dissemination of results
- Provides clinical education and support within IHNs and coordinates internal stakeholders
- Engages with HSM to educate executives and formulary stakeholders to secure access
- Develops and presents product and scientific updates, including formulary presentations
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree required
- At least two yearsβ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment required
- Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience preferred
- Displays business acumen/knowledge from formulary process decisions
- Extensive experience in diabetes strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills
Additional Requirements
- Physical/Travel: 50-75% overnight travel required
- Driver must maintain a valid driverβs license
