Role Summary

Medical Liaison for Obesity & Liver Health (South Central) focusing on territory-based medical leadership, external scientific exchange, and field-based clinical support. This role builds relationships with healthcare professionals, educates on product benefits, provides medical information, and coordinates clinical trial opportunities as needed. The position functions as a scientific liaison between the company and external healthcare stakeholders to advance scientific exchange and support medical, sales, and market access activities.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Duties:
    • Completes administrative duties accurately and timely in line with SOPs
    • Complies with guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
    • Manages regional business operations and budgets
    • Maintains understanding of Novo Nordisk processes; assists others to apply them
    • Provides monthly reports on scientific support activities and budget expenditures
    • Records activities in CRM systems and expenses in expense systems per procedures
  • Advocacy & Professional Relationship Development:
    • Attends medical/scientific meetings; stays current on issues and data related to NNIs products
    • Develops relationships with health care providers and IHNs; supports appropriate use of NNI products
    • Combines account management with scientific expertise to enhance value and collaboration
    • Develops medical account strategy and identifies collaboration opportunities
  • Field-Based Clinical Support:
    • Collaborates with HEOR to present scientific value propositions; delivers HEOR presentations
    • Informs scientific strategy with Marketing/Sales management
    • Supports trial/study sites; coordinates studies, supports patient recruitment/retention, and provides study feedback
    • Coordinates with regional FMA team for comprehensive coverage of clinical needs
    • Provides system-wide clinical education and manages professional relations within IHNs
    • Coordinates with HSM to educate Chief Executives/Medical Directors/formulary stakeholders for product access
    • Develops and presents product/scientific updates, including formulary presentations

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree required
  • At least two years’ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment required
  • Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience preferred
  • Displays business acumen/knowledge based on formulary process decisions
  • Extensive experience in diabetes strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills

Education

  • Doctoral degree required

Additional Requirements

  • 50-75% overnight travel required
  • Driver must maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must be in good standing with respect to driving record thresholds
