Job Description:
The Medical Director provides scientific and clinical leadership across global medical affairs activities within lung cancer, setting the medical strategy (evidence generation, data analysis/interpretation, publications, scientific communications, medical training, medical information, and support for payer/market access evidence generation and publications). Works in a multifunctional, matrix organization with other medical affairs functions and cross-functional partners including commercial, clinical development, access and reimbursement, patient advocacy, Oncology Business Units, and regional/local medical leads.

How you will contribute:
- Provide scientific/clinical expertise to develop and execute the lung cancer medical strategy and medical deliverables (evidence generation/analysis, scientific communications and publications, medical training/excellence, medical information, congress strategy and thought-leader engagement)
- Understand patient needs in lung cancer and focus activities accordingly
- Represent Medical Affairs on Global Product Team (GPT) and Global Brand Team (GBT) to provide clinician insights into clinical development and brand planning
- Facilitate cross-regional alignment; gather Local Operating Company (LOC) feedback for development and life-cycle management
- Provide input into asset strategy, clinical development program, and brand/tactical plans to support business success
- Lead or support Phase 3B/4 evidence generation (interventional/observational) with focus on clinical pathways and biomarker/diagnostic considerations
- Lead or support Collaborative and/or Investigator Initiated Studies (IISR)
- Lead and execute global advisory boards; communicate key findings across global clinical development, medical affairs, and commercial teams
- Support global publication strategy and execution
- Provide guidance for internal training, congress plan, and company-sponsored symposia
- Foster relationships with global cancer research organizations/institutions
- Establish and lead KOL engagement (KOL/HCP interactions; global KOL engagement plan)
- Build long-term cross-functional relationships across regions and LOCs
- Represent Takeda Oncology at external engagements (congresses, scientific meetings, etc.)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- MD, PharmD, or PhD required
- 7+ years post-doctorate healthcare or related experience
- 5+ years Medical Affairs experience or related industry experience; launch experience preferred
- Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical industry dynamics and brand life cycle (cross-functional)
- Oncology and/or hematology-oncology experience preferred
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in complex matrix environments and drive decisions across multidisciplinary, multi-regional teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Proven experience/understanding of multiple regional/country markets
- Deep understanding of the therapeutic area/brand(s) and stakeholder needs
- Experience overseeing/managing budgets to meet performance targets
- Advanced PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint); AI tools preferred

Travel Requirements:
- Up to 25% domestic and international travel
