Role Summary
Medical Director, Clinical Sciences focused on hematology, serving as clinical leader of a section within a clinical program under the guidance of the Program Lead Medical Director or Sr. Medical Director.
Responsibilities
- Provides clinical leadership and is responsible for all clinical deliverables within the assigned section of a clinical program with minimal supervision from the Program Lead MD.
- Manages all operational aspects and drives execution of the section of the clinical program in partnership with global line functions, assigned Clinical Scientist, and Clinical Operations associates.
- Supports the Program Lead MD (and/or Sr. MD) and frequently leads interactions with external collaborators (regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, advisory boards, patient advocacy groups), internal collaborators (Research, Early Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Marketing, HE&OR), and internal decision boards.
- Occasionally serves as a member for Global Clinical Development training programs, authors or reviews clinical SOPs, and may contribute to GCD strategy by serving on task forces or other panels.
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent required, ideally with Hematology Oncology fellowship training.
- More than 3 years of involvement in clinical research or drug development in an academic or industry environment spanning clinical activities in Phases I through IV is strongly preferred.
- Medical/scientific expertise in the disease area of the assigned program is preferable.
