Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct systematic workflow assessments across HQ Medical Affairs and Field Medical to identify high-impact AI transformation opportunities.
- Document current-state processes (inputs, steps, outputs, templates) to create structured specifications for AI-enabled workflow design.
- Prioritize workflow opportunities using impactβeffort analysis and operational readiness, in partnership with the Medical Affairs AI Lead.
- Design AI-enabled operating models: workflow playbooks with decision trees, quality checkpoints, and escalation protocols.
- Create standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for AI-assisted processes that meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Compliance to ensure workflows support MLR review requirements, adverse event reporting obligations, and promotional/non-promotional guidelines.
- Design and deliver role-based AI literacy and enablement programs (e.g., Field Medical, Medical Directors, Medical Information, Publications).
- Implement habit-stacking and coaching strategies to integrate AI naturally into existing workflows and daily routines.
- Identify and develop AI champions within functions to provide peer support and accelerate grassroots adoption.
- Create and communicate success stories and case studies demonstrating impact in relatable, function-specific terms.
- Build feedback collection mechanisms and continuous improvement loops to enhance AI output quality (accuracy and usability).
- Coordinate with regional Medical Affairs teams to adapt playbooks to local requirements and support global rollout.
Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership abilities: influence/collaboration, coaching/developing others, and guiding teams to achieve meaningful outcomes and business impact.
- Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or related field (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs (HQ or Field) with hands-on experience.
- Strong fluency with generative AI tools; hands-on familiarity with LLM APIs and context engineering.
- Proven experience in process improvement, workflow optimization, and/or operational excellence initiatives.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience navigating compliance and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry and working within enterprise governance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading digital transformation or technology adoption initiatives.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, agentic workflows, and automation tools.
- Experience with Medical Affairs systems (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce) and secure integrations with Technology teams.
- Exposure to testing and monitoring approaches for AI systems (prompt testing, output validation, regression testing, drift monitoring).
Non-standard Work Schedule/Environment:
- Hybrid work; ability to work in the assigned office 2β3 days per week (or as needed by the business).
