Position Details
- Follows standard work methods and safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe.
Minimum Starting Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour (1st shift), $21.25 per hour (2nd shift), $20.75 per hour (3rd shift, includes shift differential). Salary increase based on performance at 90 days.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and safety procedures; follow quality procedures and work instructions.
- Set up, inspect, and perform inventory movements to the production line.
- Place proper material in correct micro bin, Supersack feeder, pre-weigh container, or bulk bin for consumption.
- Add appropriate ingredient and amount to hand add station as directed by batching software.
- Ensure proper labeling of packaging materials.
- Execute safe and effective palletizing of material; prepare sampling materials.
- Operate forklift for movement of required materials.
- Inspect, set up, and test equipment (scales, load cells, magnets).
- Routine inspection of HACCP Control Points; inspect feed ingredients.
- Assist in training employees; perform housekeeping/general cleaning.
- Complete special projects/duties as assigned by the Lead Person.
Competencies/Skills
- Understand ingredient/product formulation fundamentals; quantify and deliver materials; keep line supplied with correct ingredients/quantities.
- Take personal responsibility for safety and quality.
- Safely operate industrial equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, moving equipment).
- Physically able to lift 60 lbs.
Education/Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; communication skills.
- Desired: ability to operate packaging/material handling equipment and industrial moving equipment.
