Role Summary
The role is responsible for external market and internal commercial data collection and analysis to support inline portfolio growth opportunities, lifecycle management, and portfolio optimization. This position will interact with all levels in commercial, finance, supply chain, and various other key teams. The person will execute both strategic and ad hoc analytical activities under the guidance of the Sr. Director of Strategic Marketing and Product Management.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining ongoing product management database and collecting relevant information to support strategic portfolio and customer analysis
- Support consolidation of TU/discontinuation list and S&OP presentation for the monthly S&OP cycle and maintain product management TU/discontinuation database and information update
- Support the identification of growth opportunities within the inline portfolio by site, by customer and/or by product family
- Support data collection for ad hoc customer requests
- Support the Product Management Team to conduct quarterly/yearly portfolio review for lower tier products to identify opportunities to improve profitability and/or recommend product optimization
- Create a competitor information database and effective tracking system to give the US commercial team a competitive advantage in monitoring major competitors’ strategy, new product launches, and supply issues through public information and making internal adjustments to defend business and/or capture market upside
- Special projects as assigned or as business needs require
Qualifications
- Required: Minimum 1 year experience within the generic pharmaceutical industry
- Required: Bachelor's degree
- Preferred: Advanced degree
- Preferred: Experience in commercial or functions interacting with commercial functions (e.g., supply chain, finance, quality) at a generic pharmaceutical company
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree preferred
Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of the generic industry
- Demonstrated strong business acumen and analytical skills
Additional Requirements
- Travel: Less than 5% domestic travel across the US and Canada
