Role Summary
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment, performing assembly and packing, and completing all documentation accurately in accordance with cGMP/ISO standards. They provide written data throughout manufacturing operations per SOPs and work Instructions, and work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Understand and follow appropriate standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Regulatory awareness of chemical handling and hazards; labeling; safety procedures; department SOPs; proper use and basic equipment maintenance.
- Follow priorities from supervision; document results and reference past batch records.
- Complete all compliance trainings; participate in continuous process improvement efforts.
- Work independently with minimal supervision on routine tasks and support others in the team.
- Knowledge of departmental work and ability to perform multiple functions within the department.
- Flexibility to handle multiple tasks; operate as primary operator of manufacturing equipment including changeovers; repair minor mechanical issues.
- Assist in training new and temporary hires; assist with equipment pack line or manual pack line operations.
- Identify process improvements and flag areas for improvement; meet quality and productivity expectations.
Qualifications
- High School or Associate's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain positive communication.
- Strong oral and written English language skills; ability to read and comprehend in English.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Experience in a cGMP/ISO facility is a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Remain seated in a normal position for extended periods up to 8 hours.
- Walk, stand, and move for prolonged periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; keyboard operation.
- Repetitive motion of hands and arms; lift up to 25 pounds and carry up to 10 feet; ability to stoop or kneel; climb ladders occasionally.
- Occasionally push/pull up to 200 lbs a distance up to 100 feet; spend time in cleanroom, freezer, and high-noise areas.
