The Outsourcing Manager is the single point of contact for internal project development teams, QA, business operations, and the external service provider. Maintains oversight and strategically plans global outsourcing activities to meet pipeline needs, development timelines, and budget.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead interaction with service providers; represent AbbVieβs interest supporting externalized early discovery preclinical projects.
- Coordinate outsourced analytical development work packages in collaboration with the internal project team.
- Monitor service providers; identify and qualify new external partners.
- Prioritize activities to drive standardized, compliant, and effective outsourcing processes.
- Collaborate with global internal and external interfaces.
- May negotiate scientific aspects of agreements; participate in review and approval.
- Contribute to project budget planning and adherence with business area managers and finance.
- Develop and execute external sourcing strategies aligned to genetic medicine priorities.
- May mentor one or more colleagues.
Qualifications:
- BS (10+ years) or MS (8+ years), preferably in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Self-motivated, self-reliant, detail-oriented; strong problem-solving in a fast-paced global team.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong quality/attention to detail in organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Flexibility with shifting timelines and priorities.
- Scientific or genetic medicine background strongly preferred.
