The Outsourcing Manager is the single point of contact for internal project development teams, QA, business operations, and the external service provider. Maintains the overview and strategically plans global outsourcing activities to meet pipeline needs and given development timelines and budget.
Continuously challenge existing processes with internal and external interfaces to increase effectiveness. Demonstrate mastery of organizational, documentation and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead interaction with Service Providers; support externalized early discovery pre-clinical projects.
- Strategically coordinate analytical development work packages outsourced to external and internal service providers.
- Maintain service provider monitoring; proactively identify and qualify new external partners.
- Prioritize activities and work toward standardized, compliant, and effective outsourcing processes.
- Collaborate in a global team with internal and external interfaces.
- May negotiate scientific aspects of agreements; participate in review and approval.
- Contribute to planning and adherence of project budget with business area managers and finance.
- Develop and execute external sourcing strategies aligned to genetic medicine priorities.
- May mentor a team of one or more colleagues.
Qualifications:
- BS (10+ years) or MS (8+ years), preferably in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Self-motivated, self-reliant, hardworking, detail-oriented; able to work in a fast-paced global team with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong attention to quality and details in organizational, documentation and communication.
- Flexibility with changing timelines and priorities.
- Scientific or genetic medicine background strongly preferred.
