Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary ServiceNow Solution Architect for an assigned process area (e.g., Incident, Change, CMDB, Discovery).
- Own architectural design and configuration decisions for the domain from requirements through production support.
- Translate business needs into scalable ServiceNow solutions aligned to enterprise standards and long-term strategy.
- Use platform constructs (configuration first; customization only when justified).
- Apply maintainable server-side logic using Business Rules and Script Includes (reuse/encapsulation).
- Design and maintain ACLs (role/group strategy, least-privilege, performance, audit readiness).
- Manage configuration vs. customization to protect upgradeability/supportability; de-customize and refactor duplicative/conflicting logic.
- Act as domain SME for design reviews, backlog refinement, and complex issue resolution.
- Partner with platform leadership (M2) to align with upgrade plans, architectural standards, and GenAI initiatives.
Required
- 5+ years hands-on (not delegated) ServiceNow platform solution design.
- Experience implementing Business Rules, Script Includes, and ACLs in enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise in at least one process area (Incident, Change, CMDB, ITOM, GRC).
- Strong judgment in performance, security, maintainability, and upgrade impact.
- Clear communication; provide real examples of decisions/implementations during interviews.
Strongly Preferred
- 2+ current ServiceNow certifications (CISβITSM/CMDB/ITOM, CAD, CSA).
- Hands-on Now Assist implementation/support in production.
- Experience with major ServiceNow upgrades and upgrade-impacting customization.
